My Story
A Note from the parents about the artist.
We are the proud parents of CJ, a remarkable young man on the autism spectrum. Like many individuals with neurodiversity, CJ experiences challenges that range from mild to more significant. But what truly sets him apart is his extraordinary talent, creativity, and perspective on the world. Every person on the spectrum is unique, and CJ is no exception. His primary challenges involve speech and social interaction, which can sometimes make traditional communication difficult. Yet despite these hurdles, CJ has one of the kindest, most open hearts you will ever encounter.
While CJ may be “different,” he is absolutely not “less than.” His gifts are many—especially his sharp intelligence and his deeply imaginative way of seeing the world, especially through his art. CJ approaches art in a way that is entirely his own, something we lovingly call “The CJ Way.” Whether he’s building with LEGO, drawing, painting, or creating intricate glass art, CJ can vividly picture his ideas in his mind and bring them to life with stunning detail. As he often says, “I see it in my brain!” and “I’ll see what happens!”
CJ is currently a sophomore in College, majoring in film studies and digital media. He has earned a place on the President’s Honor Roll and the Vice President’s Honor Roll every semester 2023/2024—an achievement we are incredibly proud of.
His artistic talent has also been recognized beyond the classroom. CJ received a top honor at the Oklahoma City Arts Festival for his glass art, and his work has earned enthusiastic praise from festivalgoers and buyers alike. He has successfully sold pieces at numerous festivals and farmers markets. In addition to his college studies, CJ enjoys participating in Rose State College, comic book club, he has practiced martial arts since the age of ten, and is an active member of OKLUG (Oklahoma LEGO User Group).
We believe CJ’s art has the power to inspire and connect, offering a glimpse into the beauty of seeing the world through a different lens. His style is intrinsic, imaginative, and unmistakably his own—reflected in every custom piece he creates.
Some of the items he has “seen” are available for purchase. Each piece is truly one of a kind. All proceeds go toward supporting his future art projects and continuing education.
